Scar removal

Scar treatment – scar corrections

After operations or accidents, excessive scarring (hypertrophic scar) or keloids can occur, which are often both aesthetically and functionally disruptive.

There are different surgical procedures. Sometimes it is sufficient to remove the scar tissue and suture it with plastic surgery. With real keloids, it is necessary to carry out medical therapy or radiation therapy after the surgical correction to prevent a new keloid.

In order to operate on a scar as inconspicuously as possible, the incisions are placed in the skin folds and local flap surgery is performed. Some patients need to be treated with autologous fat (lipofilling).
