Scar treatment – scar corrections

After operations or accidents, excessive scarring (hypertrophic scar) or keloids can occur, which are often both aesthetically and functionally disturbing.

There are different surgical procedures. Sometimes it is sufficient to remove the scar tissue and suture it surgically. In the case of true keloids, it is necessary to carry out drug therapy or radiotherapy after surgical correction in order to prevent the keloid from recurring.

In order to make the scar as inconspicuous as possible, the incisions are placed in the skin folds and skin displacement plasty is used. Some patients require relining with autologous fat (lipofilling).
