Upper arm and thigh lift
With increasing age, the skin not only sags on the face, but also on the rest of the body. Wrinkles and excess skin form on the upper arms, stomach and thighs in particular, which cannot be reduced by dieting or exercise. Women with weaker connective tissue or patients who have lost a lot of weight are particularly affected.
In these cases, surgical removal of the excess tissue is often the only corrective option. If fat deposits are present in addition to the excess skin, it is often necessary to combine this with liposuction to achieve an optimal aesthetic result. This operation can achieve a harmonious, youthful body silhouette, but it is no substitute for weight reduction if you are overweight.

When is the optimal time for an upper arm, thigh lift?
An upper arm lift should be performed when patients who have lost a lot of weight have reached their target weight. Suitable patients for an upper arm and thigh lift include people who have lost a lot of weight and older patients who are bothered by the excess skin on their upper arms and the resulting wrinkles.
How does the upper arm and thigh lift procedure work?
In an individual consultation, we discuss which findings are perceived as disturbing. I then explain the possible treatment steps. In your personal treatment plan, we determine whether liposuction, skin tightening or a combination of procedures should be performed.
It must be pointed out that, unlike with other tightening operations, the scar after an upper arm or thigh lift cannot be completely concealed. This runs along the inside of the upper arm or thigh up to the elbow or knee. An upper arm or thigh lift should only be carried out if the scar is not perceived as disturbing. If the excess skin on the upper arms or legs is so large that it causes an aesthetic improvement despite the scar described above, the excess tissue on the inside of the upper arm or thigh is removed under general anesthesia, usually after suctioning out any remaining excess fatty tissue.
What can I expect after the operation?
An upper arm lift can often be performed on an outpatient basis, with an overnight stay in hospital if the patient wishes, whereas a thigh lift can be performed on an inpatient basis. Only minor pain occurs, which can be treated with mild painkillers. The compression sleeves or pants must be worn for 6 weeks, the stitches can be removed after 2-3 weeks. Special scar creams can be used for follow-up treatment as required. After 6 months, the scars have often faded and are well hidden on the inside of the arm or leg.
