Intimate surgery

Genital beauty and intactness as well as gender identity are increasingly becoming the focus of social body awareness. Today, we are experiencing an increasing removal of taboos about intimate areas, whereas in the past, ignorance and secrecy about the primary sexual organs of women and men prevailed.

Women are becoming increasingly aware of the appearance of their visible genitals and are developing an ideal idea of genital beauty.

Our patients most frequently express the wish for a reduction of the labia minora, which they consider to be too large. This is often associated with enormous uncertainty about what is considered normal in terms of labia size, deformities and asymmetries.

These can be congenital, caused by birth injuries or menopausal changes and can be accompanied by disorders of sexual arousability, sensation, dryness of the mucous membranes and pain.

Such complaints and concerns in the intimate area must always be assessed with regard to the cultural and psychosocial background of our patients.

Aim of the intervention ?

The aim of the procedure is to eliminate functional problems and to create aesthetically pleasing labia. The size, shape and symmetry of the labia can be corrected. The operation can be performed in twilight sleep or under general anesthesia.

How is the operation performed?

In most cases, a reduction of the labia minora is suitable for achieving harmony and satisfaction with the shape of the external genitalia. The first step is to discuss the desired shape and size of the labia minora, whether they should be completely covered by the labia majora or whether they can be slightly longer than the labia majora. In some cases, modern non-surgical procedures with fat and autologous serum injections can also help. Complications are rare after labiaplasty.

What needs to be considered after a labiaplasty?

A sterile compress is applied after the operation. It is advisable to use normal sanitary towels to protect your underwear. Showering without soap is possible.

In the first 2-3 weeks after the operation, the use of tampons, tight underwear and clothing, sport and sexual intercourse should be avoided.
