What are angled arms?
What are angle arms anyway? Angular arms are located on the lower side of the upper arm. We usually talk about love handles when someone has flabby upper arms. You heard that right, as well as the stomach, legs, breasts and buttocks, flare arms are a typical problem area for women. Many women feel unsightly and unattractive due to their flabby upper arms, which are often accompanied by excess skin flaps. This can cause enormous suffering. Sagging arms are a very common phenomenon as they are caused by natural ageing processes. The skin loses elasticity and firmness, it begins to sag and the result is flabby upper arms. For this reason, many slim people are also affected by flabby arms as they age. Very pronounced flabby upper arms with sagging skin flaps are usually caused by being very overweight or by frequent weight fluctuations. If the triceps are not exercised regularly, the risk of flare arms increases. As a result, it is not only older or overweight women who can be affected; younger women who do too little sport can also be affected.
Why are angled arms or flabby upper arms a problem at all?
Affected patients are ashamed of their appearance and their self-esteem suffers. The flabby arms are then hidden under long-sleeved clothing and swimming pool visits and saunas are avoided as much as possible. Mental stress is not always the decisive factor in doing something about flabby upper arms. There may also be functional problems for which treatment should definitely be considered. Sagging upper arms, drooping skin flaps and increased sweat production can lead to inflammation and chafed areas under the arms. Both can be very painful and uncomfortable, causing further difficulties in everyday life. Now the question arises, what can be done to treat sagging upper arms or angular arms in general?
What can I do about flabby upper arms?
If sagging upper arms remain on your body despite regular exercise and a healthy diet, then the only option is surgery to tighten the arms. This operation is known as an upper arm lift and is performed by experts. During the operation, an incision is made on the inside of the upper arm. This runs either to the armpit or to the inside of the elbow. The entire procedure usually takes between two and three hours and can be performed on an inpatient or outpatient basis. As a rule, liposuction is necessary in order to protect the vascular, lymphatic and nerve tracts located there. After the healing process, regular strength training is required to maintain firm upper arms in the long term.
